Free Wi-Fi in Taipei
The city runs a free Wi-Fi network, TPE-Free, in the public places it manages. It needs no account and no password, and visitors from abroad can use it. The city's list has 3,305 hotspots.
How to connect
- Turn on Wi-Fi.
- Choose the network TPE-Free.
- Open any website. The login page opens by itself.
- Read and accept the terms of service, and you are online.
If the login page does not open, the site you tried may be an https one, which cannot be redirected. Open an http page instead, or follow the browser's prompt to the Wi-Fi login page.
After two hours of continuous use you are logged out. Connect again and log in to carry on.
Sites unsuitable for children, such as adult or violent content, are blocked.
