About
The centre is in the Yangmingshan area. Its main grounds cover a little over 4 ha, and the local climate and soil suit the growing of low-altitude temperate flowers and trees.

From 1949 the centre carried out research on collecting varieties of camellias and azaleas, acclimatising them and improving cultivation techniques. It opened to the public in 2003 and has since become a public park. The centre displays the results of its long-term cultivation and research in the grounds, so that visitors can see years of research. The grounds are laid out in several themed areas: camellias, herbs, fragrant flowers, native azaleas, maples, conifers and Yoshino cherries, a fern and 海棠 greenhouse and a succulent greenhouse. Each themed area has its own landscape character and shows different kinds of plants, and visitors can stroll through them at ease.
