Drinking water in Taipei
The tap water is drinkable, the city's water department says, and it keeps public drinking fountains you can refill a bottle at: 106 spots in 90 MRT and transit stations, 35 at night markets and shopping streets, and more in parks.

The Taipei Water Department says its water is safe and directly drinkable, and that it tests up to 141 items, 73 more than Taiwan's drinking water standard. Taipei Water Department, page updated 2025-06-12
Water stored in a building's tank stays safe in normal use, it adds, because it is usually used within two days and keeps its residual chlorine, as long as the tank is cleaned every year. Taipei Water Department, page updated 2025-03-07
