Rongxing Garden Park

It was built by private developers as a privately run garden in 1968,and in August 1989 it was acquired and opened as a public park. It was renovated in three phases between 2001 and 2006. The renovation kept the bougainvillea arbour where people take wedding photos and the Liugong Canal wetland pond, and created a stage with a water feature. There is also a shaded plaza on the south-west side used in the mornings and evenings for dancing and tai chi, a sunny lawn in the north-east, a sweetgum walk laid with sleepers, leisure paths, a lotus pond, boardwalks, a children's play area, a basketball court, a red clay running track, a distinctively designed service centre, three public toilets and pavilions where people play chess and chat. Through cooperation between the neighbourhood chief, local residents and experts, fireflies have been reintroduced to the wetland pond, and the parks office continues to survey the ecology and plan environmental improvements.
