Museum of Medical Humanities

Despite many restorations, most of the original appearance survives. The building's use changed as the school developed: classrooms, administrative centre, base for medical academic activity across Taiwan, base for medical education reform and venue for medical humanities education, until the museum was set up in 2008. The exhibitions are divided into permanent and special exhibitions. The permanent exhibitions are 'The Birth of Life', 'Where Do Taiwanese People Come From?' and 'Taiwanese People's Struggle against Disease'. Special exhibitions explore the impact of medical developments and reflections on them, and also tour other medical education institutions. The building is in late French Renaissance style, with the lobby, main walls and columns decorated with mouldings and carvings. The lobby and corridors have many arcades. The roof was originally a mansard, covered with slate and copper, with small round windows in the slopes. A fire in 1930 destroyed the roof, and it lost its original form when repaired.
