About
Founded as a long-held wish of Evergreen Group chairman Chang Yung-fa, the museum expresses his deep bond with the sea and promotes maritime education in Taiwan. It is a maritime-themed museum for visitors of all generations and backgrounds.

Its large collection of model ships ranges from dugout canoes hollowed out by early humans to the sailing ships, powered vessels and work boats developed in the West, as well as bamboo rafts that reflect Taiwan's island life and wangchuan (royal boats) with religious significance. The museum also shows many paintings of the sea from the 18th to the 20th centuries, from battle scenes to sails on glittering water, showing how painters of each era saw the ocean. A navigation discovery area uses nautical instruments and interactive multimedia displays to let visitors learn about sailing first-hand.
