About
Snake Alley, the Huaxi Street Night Market near Longshan Temple in Taipei, was Taiwan's first tourist night market. It mainly sells mountain produce, seafood and game snacks.

In its early days it was known for snake-killing shows, which earned it the name Snake Alley. With growing awareness of conservation, most shops have since turned to snake dishes served as health food. The entrance has a traditional Chinese archway, and red palace lanterns line the street. The shops are all long-established. Foods include hot mochi at Beigang Sweet Soup, rice noodle soup at Yongbo, boneless goose at Hanji, braised pork rice at A-Yi and old-style mixed noodles at A-E.
