About
This night market is in the old Mengjia district of Wanhua, beside Longshan Temple, and is one of the few places in Taipei for an evening stroll that still keeps a strong old-town character. The street is short, but it gathers many kinds of local Taiwanese snacks along a compact route, so travellers can explore by eating as they walk and get a feel for the rhythm of everyday life.

Neon lights, smoke from the food carts and the footsteps of the crowds make a typical old-Taipei night scene, and many visitors stop to photograph it. The market connects with Huaxi Street Tourist Night Market, Wuzhou Street and Xichang Street Night Market, together known as the Mengjia Night Market District. Some sections are mainly street stalls and some feel like markets under the arcades, showing the urban fabric that Wanhua has built up over a long time. There is a wide choice of food, and if you have time, the nearby old streets and the Bopiliao Historic Block can be added for a fuller walk through Mengjia's culture.
