The Shuangxi stream rises in Yangmingshan National Park. After flowing past the university 東吳大學 it turns to the north side of the road, and riverside green parks stretch from here.

Cycle paths run along both banks, making this the short route in Taipei's river cycling network closest to homes, and it is very well maintained. The left bank of the Shuangxi connects to the right-bank cycle path at Bailing Bridge. The riverside park on the right bank at Bailing Bridge is where rugby players gather, and football teams often play each other there. Cyclists can ride across the grass to beneath Chengde Bridge and visit Sanjiaodu, Taipei's last sampan pier.
