In the narrow sense, Mengjia Old Street means the stretch of Guiyang Street in front of Mengjia Qingshan Temple, formerly called Fanshu Market Street (蕃薯市街, "sweet potato market street"). Known as Taipei's first street, it is the oldest street in Taipei and where Mengjia's prosperity began.
