This is one of the few surviving suspension bridge sites over the Keelung River in urban Taipei. The bridge was built as a key route for carrying coal from the Neihu area in early times, and its remains bear witness to the history of local industry.

It was the first suspension bridge in Neihu District across the Keelung River built specially for transporting coal. The deck was removed in the 1970s or 1980s (民國60、70年間), and only the bridge pillars on the north bank remain.
