A group of middle-rank official residences, the Nishikicho Japanese Houses were built in Nishikicho, Taipei, during the Japanese colonial period, roughly in the Showa era. They housed staff of the Forestry Section of the Bureau of Productive Industries of the Taiwan Governor-General's Office, and the street was then called Nishikicho Sixth Street.

The houses stand on Jinhua Street and Lane 61, Section 2, Hangzhou South Road, in Da'an District. The buildings are laid out on a north-south axis, and the group is large and complete in its layout. Under the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act it is registered as a Taipei City historic building. The houses follow a Japanese residential layout. Their walls are of woven bamboo and mud clad in weatherboards, the roofs rest on timber trusses and are covered with Japanese black tiles, and the whole structure is timber-framed, keeping the features of Japanese architecture.
