About
The large sandbar wetlands near Huajiang Bridge have long been home to many migratory birds. Every year from September to the following April, thousands of ducks, geese, waders and other birds visit.

To promote conservation education, a large waterfowl birdwatching event is held each migratory season. The park lies outside the embankment. The main birdwatching areas are in the Huajiang waterfowl park and Huazhong Riverside Park, with facilities for observing the wildlife. Near Huajiang Bridge the river is very wide, and the whole of Banqiao can be seen from here, the grey city set behind green water plants and the pale blue river.
