At 116 metres long, it was Taipei's first long-span suspension bridge. Its design uses the image of a dragon's backbone, running from Longchuanyan (Dragon Boat Rock) in the east through Baishihu Mountain, Daluntou Mountain, Zhongyong Mountain and Liyu Mountain to Yuanjue Waterfall; from above it looks like a giant coiled dragon guarding the Baishihu area. Unlike typical suspension bridges with tall towers, it has a straight deck design, making it an 'invisible' suspension bridge without suspension cables that blends into the farmland scenery. Across the bridge is the Baishihu community, where the 100-metre Chunqiu Trail passes flower-growing plots and local farmland and natural scenery. The community is also called the most romantic community: its Tongxin Lake ('one heart'), Yongjie Pavilion ('forever bound') and Husband and Wife Tree symbolise lasting love. Bishan Road has many farms and strawberry farms, and strawberry season runs from December to May. The bridge links the nearby mountain temple, orchards, forest trails and a wetland lake, with flowers and birdsong.
