Neishuangxi Nature Centre

After rebuilding by the city's geotechnical engineering office, its planned hiking trails, viewing platforms and farm roads link the hills of Shilin and Neihu districts and connect with nearby attractions such as Bishan Campsite and the Baishihu farming community, forming a green recreation corridor. At the entrance, Bixi Bridge has a stone carving of a tree frog (台灣樹蛙) at its end, a sign of the area's rich wildlife, and a semicircular viewing platform beside the bridge looks down over the Neishuangxi stream and the rocks of Shitoushan. Following the hiking trail into the park, you reach a large timber lookout tower. The tower is 6 metres high, built entirely of ebony (黑檀木), and its four supports keep the natural shape of the logs. From the platform there are wide views of Dalunweishan and Yuanshanzaishan. The area is the well-watered Bixi catchment, and its ecology is especially valuable because it lies where species of the old Xueshan Range meet those of the younger Datun Mountains. The park also has a solar power demonstration system with simple interactive displays promoting energy saving and carbon reduction, making it an outdoor classroom for daily life, recreation and ecological education.
