Jimmy Liao-themed Nangang Station

There are six large colour murals in the station. They are illustrations from Jimmy Liao's book 地下鐵 ('Subway'), enlarged and fired onto enamel panels set into the walls; only one is a new work, bringing together characters from Jimmy Liao's earlier books. The largest, 141 metres long and 7 metres high, is on the platform wall. Before the train arrives, it shows the scene on board: an older man reading a newspaper, office workers commuting, and a bored child without a seat who imagines a witch flying past the window and a pig and rabbits racing the train across the fields.
