The Guanyinshan Reservoir is one of the buildings of the Taipei Waterworks Source, a group of city monuments. It stored purified drinking water.

It was retired in 1977, when a new water purification plant was completed, and was later reopened to visitors. Its architecture has earned it the nickname 'Underground Water Palace'.
