About
The Parks Office took over Fujoushan Park in 2001 and budgeted in 2004 for clearing the structures on the site. Once they had been removed, the area was landscaped to keep its natural look, and pavilions were added in response to hikers' suggestions, linking it with the existing park.

The park is on the hillside beside Xinhai Road and Wolong Street, covers about 172,488 square metres and stands about 105 metres above sea level. It was formerly the Fujoushan public cemetery. Since becoming a park it has been managed mainly for nature conservation, with extensive tree planting, a complete woodland and rich wildlife. Apart from necessary soil and water conservation and disaster prevention works, man-made facilities are kept to a minimum and easy to maintain. Hiking trails lead past insects and birds, and pavilions offer places to rest, with views of Guanyin Mountain and Datun Mountain and over Da'an District. It is also a spot for viewing the whole of Taipei 101. Planting aims to preserve the natural landscape: shade trees and flowering trees and shrubs that attract birds and butterflies are planted only at trailheads, rest platforms and pavilions. The former cemetery is now visited often by hikers and used for nature education.
