Yangming Park

After Taiwan's retrocession, in 1950, Caoshan was renamed Yangmingshan in memory of Wang Yangming, and the Yangmingshan Administration Bureau was set up to develop Yangming Park. The park's urban planning area is about 107 hectares. After the Yangmingshan Administration Bureau was reorganised in 1977, the park was handed over to the Parks and Street Lights Office. Part of the Datun mountain group and 445 metres above sea level, the park has Qixing Mountain behind it, Shamao Mountain to the left and Datun Mountain close by on the right, with the ridges of Guanyin Mountain in the distance. The climate is warm and humid, with cool summers. The park is planted with mei plum, cherry, peach, li plum, azalea, camellia and other flowers, and the cherry trees blossom every spring. There is also a flower clock made of seasonal flowers. In spring there are flowers, in summer cool weather, in autumn silvergrass and maple leaves, and in winter hot springs.
