On Wuchang Street in the centre of Taipei stands this temple, a place of worship that has witnessed the history of the building of Taipei city. The main hall enshrines the City God (Chenghuang Ye).

Every couplet and plaque in the temple is a piece of craftsmanship and also carries a moral message about seeking good fortune, avoiding misfortune and gradually improving one's character. Besides the City God, the temple enshrines Shakyamuni Buddha, the Medicine Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Guanyin and Dizang Bodhisattva, as well as Guansheng Dijun, Fuyou Dijun, Wenchang Dijun, the monk Jigong, the City God's wife, Fude Zhengshen and others.
