It was founded by Guo Yezi, a devout laywoman, on the principles of teaching through the divine, saving all beings, guiding worshippers in spiritual practice and purifying hearts, out of compassion for others. The temple covers more than 10,000 ping (over 33,000 square metres) and is made up of a group of five-storey buildings, flanked by tower-style bell and drum towers.
