    "description_zh_hant": "東和禪寺位於臺北東門外，原稱為曹洞宗大本山別院，由日僧初建於一九０八年，設計者亦為日人入江善太郎。至一九一六年附設佛教學校，供僧侶與齋友的子弟就讀，學習佛教教義及普通常識，一九三五年改名為私立臺北中學，戰後再改稱為泰北中學。一九三０年在大殿之前建造高聳的鐘樓，目前仍存在，但大殿及其他古老的建築因曾被軍隊及民眾佔住長期遭到破壞，近年被拆掉了，至為可惜。鐘樓的建築深具特色，雖屬鋼筋混凝土的結構，但細部皆採循章法製作，屋頂為單簷式歇山，舖日式黑瓦，脊頭置鬼瓦。二樓內部懸吊一口大銅鐘，外部出挑平座欄杆，頗富空靈之韻味。一樓使用粗面石塊，闢拱門出入，有如城門。這原是日本桃山及江戶時期流行的建築風格，至二十世紀，形成近代和風建築。(資料來源:文化部文化資產局)",

    "description_en": "The temple stands outside Taipei's East Gate. It was originally called 曹洞宗大本山別院, a branch temple of the Caodong (Soto) Zen school, first built by Japanese monks in 1908 and designed by the Japanese 入江善太郎. In 1916 a Buddhist school was added for the children of monks and lay vegetarian followers (齋友), teaching Buddhist doctrine and general knowledge. In 1935 it was renamed 私立臺北中學, and after the war 泰北中學. In 1930 a tall bell tower was built in front of the main hall, and it still stands. The main hall and other old buildings, however, were occupied for a long time by the military and residents, damaged, and demolished. The bell tower has distinctive architecture: although it is reinforced concrete, its details follow traditional rules, with a single-eave hip-and-gable roof covered in black Japanese tiles and ogre-face tiles (鬼瓦) at the ridge ends. A large bronze bell hangs inside the upper storey, which has a projecting balcony with a railing. The lower storey is of rough-faced stone blocks with an arched doorway, like a city gate. This style was popular in Japan's Momoyama and Edo periods and in the 20th century developed into modern Japanese-style architecture.",
    "description_ko": "둥허찬쓰(東和禪寺)는 타이베이 둥먼(東門) 밖에 있어요. 원래 이름은 曹洞宗大本山別院으로, 조동종의 별원이었어요. 1908년 일본 승려들이 처음 세웠고, 설계자도 일본인 入江善太郎였어요. 1916년에는 승려와 재우(齋友, 채식하는 재가 신도)의 자녀를 위한 불교 학교를 부설해 불교 교리와 일반 상식을 가르쳤어요. 1935년 私立臺北中學으로, 전쟁 뒤에는 泰北中學으로 이름을 바꿨어요. 1930년 본전 앞에 높은 종루를 세웠는데 지금도 남아 있어요. 하지만 본전과 다른 옛 건물들은 오랫동안 군대와 주민들이 점유하면서 훼손됐고, 결국 헐렸어요. 종루는 건축이 독특해요. 철근 콘크리트 구조지만 세부는 전통 법식을 따랐어요. 지붕은 홑처마 팔작지붕에 일본식 검은 기와를 얹었고, 용마루 끝에는 귀면 기와(鬼瓦)를 올렸어요. 2층 안에는 큰 청동 종이 걸려 있고, 바깥으로는 난간을 두른 발코니가 튀어나와 있어요. 1층은 거친 면의 돌덩이로 쌓고 아치형 출입구를 내서 성문 같아요. 이는 일본 모모야마 시대와 에도 시대에 유행한 양식으로, 20세기에 들어 근대 일본풍 건축으로 이어졌어요.",
